TRAINFO was one of four startups selected internationally to compete in the US Transportation Research Board’s Six-Minute Pitch Contest in Washington, DC. This contest follows the Shark Tank or Dragon’s Den approach where participants are given six minutes to pitch their idea. Judges from Fontinalis Partners (venture capital firm), 1776 (a technology incubator), and Ford evaluated each pitch and invested “TRB Bucks” into each company. TRAINFO finished a close second and received valuable feedback and praise from the judging panel.
The TechFutures Award is presented by Futurpreneur to help early stage technology startup companies commercialize and launch their technology-driven business idea. This competitive award recognizes startups that demonstrate the greatest potential for commercialization based on market potential, the product/service innovation and the relevant skills and/or experience of the applicant.
We are pleased to announce that TRAINFO and the City of Winnipeg are entering into a pilot project that will deploy our system at 27 railway crossings in Winnipeg. The pilot is expected to last for one year and will provide detailed railway crossing blockage information at major locations in the city. TRAINFO is particularly grateful to the City of Winnipeg Traffic Signals Branch for this opportunity.
